Our Approach

Welcome to Gresham Smile Designs, where we pride ourselves on delivering attentive, patient-centered care in a warm and welcoming environment. Since taking over the practice in January 2019, Dr. Matthew Vogel has continued the legacy of exceptional dentistry established by his childhood dentist and mentor, Dr. Daniel Ries.

Dr. Vogel’s connection to the practice began long before he became a dentist. Growing up in Portland, he spent many afternoons in Dr. Ries’s office while accompanying his siblings to their dental appointments. Those early experiences sparked his passion for dentistry and inspired the compassionate approach he brings to every patient today.

Dr. Matthew Vogel

Dr. Matthew Vogel is a proud Oregon native who was born and raised in Portland. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology and Human Physiology from the University of Oregon, along with minors in Business and Chemistry, before receiving his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Oregon Health & Science University, graduating with high honors. Since 2014, Dr. Vogel has been dedicated to providing exceptional general and cosmetic dentistry to patients in the Gresham community.

Known for his compassionate approach and attention to detail, Dr. Vogel is committed to delivering high-quality dental care in a comfortable, welcoming environment. He believes in building lasting relationships with patients while helping them achieve healthy, confident smiles.

Outside the office, Dr. Vogel enjoys spending time with his wife and son. In his free time, he loves snowboarding, golfing, and exploring the outdoors through hiking.
